Illuminating Nigeria's Future in Photonics

Connecting, Collaborating, and Advancing Optics & Photonics Research Across Borders

About Photonics Nigeria

Photonics Nigeria aims to bring together Nigerian students and researchers, both at home and abroad, in the field of optics and photonics. This group will foster connections, collaboration, and the sharing of opportunities among members, thereby enhancing the presence of Nigerian researchers in advancing the frontiers of optics and photonics.

Through this platform, STEM education in optics and photonics will be realized for young scientists in high school and undergraduate level, nurturing their interests in the field in alignment with Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 4 and 9.

Photonics Nigeria also serves as a platform to amplify the achievements of Nigerian researchers worldwide. Information about postgraduate programs, scholarships, competitions, and job opportunities will be shared to keep all members informed about the latest developments in the field of optics and photonics.

Ultimately, this group seeks to position Nigeria at the forefront of photonics research and innovation in Africa and beyond.
